Poundland gems | The best nail polish remover for £1

I thought I would just show you all some little gems I found in Poundland yesterday. I always pop into the shop when I can because I always find amazing things (OPI and revlon nail polish, Stila makeup etc). They are hidden beneath a lot of cheap, kind of tacky things but when you find them it is an amazing success and you feel rather proud.

This nail polish remover is AMAZING! I bought the Bourjois one second one ages ago, and I really didn't like it. It leaves a really horrible residue and didn't really take my nail polish off properly (never mind in 1 second!?!) I reverted back to the usual nail polish remover in a bottle, and this summer I went on a camp. My best friend got this out of her suitcase and I tried it, and it literally took my nail polish off instantly. And isn't greasy at all. She said it was from poundland, and I finally managed to get some! This stuff works sooooo well! And is £1...obviously ;P

The hello kitty plasters are just adorable. I am going to keep them in my school bag this year for the times when people ask despairingly if anyone happens to have a plaster, and I can say 'actually, I do!' and whip out the hello kitty loves. I live for that moment haha ;P Honestly though, these came in handy last year and I can't believe I picked these cute ones up for £1!!

And last but not least, the tic tacs. Another gem for my school  bag, I eat them whenever I am having a bad lesson and it just makes it better. I don't know how but it does. And 4 packets for £1?!? These will last me forever.

Just wanted to share my poundland happiness with you all :)

A french adventure.

hello loves

On Thursday I got back from a little break in France with my family!

It was so much fun; I thought I'd show you all some of the pictures I took. We went to the Louvre too, but I am going to dedicate a whole post to that as it there is so much to say!

We went to a little cottage in rural france for a week, then stayed in a few hotels on the way there and back, and went to Paris for 3 days!

This is me by the River Seine in Paris.

We had a meal on a boat going on the River Seine. So beautiful!

The Eiffel tower at night.

The Eiffel tower at day, taken from the top of the Arc de Triomphe!

Macarons in Paris. SO DELISH!!!

French pharmacies are about as common as coffee shops; they are on literally every street. And they are full of skincare brands like bioderma. They don't sell everyday things, me and my mum spent ages trying to find plasters! It's pretty much all skincare (amazing)

The most expensive CafĂ© I have ever been to and probably ever will go to!

This Chateau was a true fairy tale. The pictures don't justify how insanely gorgeous it is. I was actually speechless.

I love France so much and I really hope I get the opportunity to go again one day!

How I edit my Instagram pictures ♡

I get asked all of the time on my Instagram how I edit my pictures. I made a super short video showing exactly what I do, as it is easier than explaining it :) Sometimes I do more than this, and sometimes all I use is the Valencia filter. This tutorial is just for the average picture. Hope this is helpful!

Soap & Glory 'The Breakfast Scrub' ♡

I absolutely love Soap and Glory products. I think it is a mixture of the cute vintagey packaging, the delicious scents and the quality product which make them one of my favourite brands when it comes to bodycare. I haven't tried any of their skincare products yet but I definitely want to!
My most recent purchase from them has been 'The Breakfast Scrub'. It is a thick, sugary body scrub filled with little grains to get rid of the dead skin cells and leave your skin rejuvenated and brightened. I find that this is amazing to use before shaving my legs, to make them super smooth.

It smells like maple syrup, which is one of my favourite foods of all time! I always want to eat it. I will admit I did have a teeny tiny nibble once but it did NOT taste as good as it smells, haha.  I was almost about to buy 'Sugar Crush' but that one is a bit too sweet! If  you aren't keen on super sweet scents, this might not be for you as it can be a bit sickly.  But if you have a sweet tooth comme moi, you will probably love this!

It is a little pricey at £8, but the container is pretty big and holds a lot of product (300ml), so I think it will last a while. I also have another S&G body scrub in the mini pot, and that was £2.50 and I finished it in about a week. So I think it is better value to go for the £8 version!
Have you ever tried this?

Confessions of a blogger tag! ♡

When did you start your blog?
On the 27th of December 2012. I did actually have a blog when I was about 10, which is why my profile says it has been around for a while. It was called "simple but effective" :)
Have you had any past online presence before (Other blog, YouTube)?
I am on practically every social media going, but in terms of a public outlet like a blog, not really.
Why did you start a blog?
It was two days after I received my computer, and it was the first computer (and still is) I ever had! As soon as I got it I knew I wanted to do something on the internet so I randomly made this blog. I am super chatty and none of my friends are particularly into makeup, so starting a blog meant I could ramble on a bout products and likeminded people would read it. If you see my first few posts, they are so long and detailed! When I first started, I was obsessively writing posts and found it so hard to wait a day so I could post again (posting everyday seemed too much, haha). I was so excited!

When did you become serious about starting a blog?
This is probably a bad thing to admit, but I am going to roll with it. I wouldn't say I am 'serious' about blogging, after all I am just 15! For me it is a hobby, and a positive outlet which brings me a lot of happiness. :)
What was your first post?
I don't think it is too bad! Haha :)
What has been your biggest challenge about blogging?
Finding time and motivation. I go through phases of blogging every day to blogging once a month (I am in the latter stage at the minute.) I also have tons of homework and school exams, and a lot of the time blogging has to take a back seat.
Where do you see your blog in one year?
Hopefully the same as it is now, just little old me having a chat about things which interest me! Maybe a better blog design, better pictures... :)
What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?
When people comment on the posts and it makes me feel as though I am part of a community.
What is the most discouraging thing that happens to you?
I really struggle to think of an answer to this! I think when a post doesn't turn out how I want it to that is annoying. Or if I see someone else's blog which has a beautiful layout and amazing pictures and flawless outfits/makeup, I do sometimes feel a bit discouraged and downhearted. It is a super bad trait of mine, but I am trying to stop it! This is my new fave quote: " A flower does not think of competing to the flower next to it. It just blooms." I have this quote on my wall and I absolutely love it. Every time I feel a bit like I am rubbish, I just think of it!! :)
What’s your lasting inspiration or motivation?
Blogging/ YouTubing is something I really love to do, and I always try to do what I love!

Hope you enjoyed this! I have a Spanish GCSE exam tomorrow, and I can't speak it at all as I have only been learning it for two weeks! When you are reading this it will be done and I will be feeling super relaxed and happy.

I tag everyone to do this!

What is happening

Hi everyone...*awkwardly waves*

I have been MIA for a longgg time... like a month?! That is the longest time I have ever gone without blogging and it doesn't feel good :( But I felt like I had to put something out, as I love this little blog and I feel like I have neglected it :( (sorry blog)

As much as I love blogging, I feel like it is a lot of pressure to take 'perfect' pictures and write amazing posts that everyone loves and post all of the time. For me at the moment, it just isn't realistic as I have a LOT going on in my life. I won't go into any unnecessary, boring detail, but I have a bunch of exams, and I get extremely stressed. I basically turn into a different person when I am stressed, haha :)

Right now I am trying to focus on being happy.

I absolutely adore blogging and I am definitely not going anywhere, it's just sometimes I find it really difficult. There are weeks when I am completely 'on schedule', and post consistently, and then there are weeks when I don't post at all and feel like a horrible person for it. I feel like sometimes when I have a schedule, blogging becomes like a chore and that is when I lose motivation. For me, blogging should always be something I love. I think it's obvious when the blogger feels forced, and it's not nice.

During the summer when I have finished school I will start posting consistently again, as it is what I love to do, and I can't wait!

I have been posting YouTube videos every single week! I love having a channel so much. I started this blog over a year ago and I never would've thought that I would be posting YouTube videos. Sooo yeaaaa...things change! I started writing about cute things I enjoy, and that is what I still hope to do on this blog.

This post is a little thrown together and I'm not too sure what I'm trying to say... I guess just hi, I am still here and I still love this whole thing :)

Its the little things

I bought this plastic cup from Primark and I love it soo much!

I have been posting  a lot on Instagram recently, it's such a fun hobby for me. If you want to follow me, my username is @ekyjones :) I am kinda close to 3000 followers which means so much to me!

This is basically my life :)

This is what I look like at the moment! I have been having my hair wavy a lot to save from using heat, and I am starting to like it.

I went on a bike ride with my family and I took a picture of my essentials. My Cath Kidston purse, factor 50 sun cream, sunglasses and my phone.

I received this lovely package from Naomi from Odds and Sorts. She so kindly gave me 2 of her bracelets from her shop, and I am so grateful!

This rose lemonade is so gorgeous. I will admit, I did buy it because of the bottle, but the drink is pretty good too.

I think this alarm clock is so cute! I asked my dad to take my phone off me for a week and not give it me back, so I wouldn't be distracted for exams, so I had to use this as an alarm and not my phone. It also says 'Jones' on it which is pretty cool! :)

I bought this bracelet in the next sale for just £2, reduced from £12! Its so perfect for summer. The only major slight downside is that my wrists are so tiny so it kinda slips off.

A little haul ♡ | Handpicked Beauty

Yesterday I went on a bike ride with my little brother and my parents, and we cycled to a shopping centre near me! I don't usually cycle but it was so fun, the views were amazing. I bought a few bits and pieces so I thought I'd show you as I haven't posted a haul in a while.

Primark pyjamas are my absolute favourites! I own way too many; every time I go to Primark I buy some. Its an addiction...but they are so cute! All of the prints are gorgeous and they are so cheap, you can't really go wrong. I bought this sleep sweater, because I have so many pyjama bottoms without tops so I thought this could go with them. I couldn't leave these unicorn pyjama bottoms, they are so comfy and cute!

In Paperchase I picked up this notebook. I love how natural it looks. I have so many notebooks, whenever I see a quote that I like or a picture on the internet, I print it off and stick it in one of my notebooks. I have themed pages, and I love looking through them! Its kind of like a physical copy of my tumblr :P PS: this is my tumblr link : http://ekyjones.tumblr.com/

In Boots I bought two nail polishes. Barry M 'Huckleburry' is such a gorgeous, pastelly blue and I think it is so summery! The name is so cute :) I have never tried Sinful Colours before, but they are only £1.99 which is such a bargain! I think this looks so much more expensive. It is in the colour 'Big Daddy, which is a burnt orange colour. I have it on my toes as we speak and I absolutely love it!

From Boots I also picked up some new skincare products. These 'Good things' products were on sale for £3.32 each, so I picked them up straight away! I have wanted to try this brand for so long. I bought the manuka honey cleanser as a morning cleanser, as it seems so gentle and smells amazing. The deep pore lotion I am going to use after my cleanse and polish as an extra cleanse. I tried them both last night and this morning, and they are both so gentle and smell divine! I will do some proper reviews after I've used them for a bit longer. But so far I am so impressed! They are both free from parabens and harsh chemicals.

I bought this revlon lip butter in 'Peach Parfait'. I have never tried one of their lip butters, but they are cuyrrently on sale for £5.99! I debated which colour to get, but this one is so natural and has a gorgeous subtle shimmer, so perfect for school.

Have you bought anything recently?
