Rimmel Apocalips review and swatches :)

Hello! If you read my haul post yesterday, you'll know that I bought 3 of the new Rimmel Apocalips lip lacquers recently and despite the fact the bloggersphere is full of these reviews at the moment, I thought I'd give my own opinion and thoughts of them! I got them for £5.99 each but they are on 3 for 2 at Boots so I got 3 for just under £12 which I thought was great as I only expected to buy one! They are so pigmented and they last for ages. Also sorry to my friend who I dragged round Boots as I ummed and ahhhed over which shades to get ;) You don't need to apply a lot because the colours are so strong, but I have found juts adding a tiny dot of product to the apples of the cheeks creates a long lasting, natural blusher- yay! The applicator can be a bit hard to use but once you've gotten used to it it's fine. One thing I've noticed about them is they all have a very distinctive smell, particularly Luna. It isn't the nicest smell but once it's on the lips you don't notice it :) I love this lip lacquers(hard word to spell ;) )and I haven't got any other products like them, so I think they are a great addition to anyone's collection and as they are so affordable I would definitely recommend them. I had a good look at the other shades but I bought the 3 which I think are the most wearable for me.

Firstly, I bought Luna. Luna is a gorgeous coral/peach tone and is a very natural and everyday shade. I think it goes really well with my skin tone but I think it would go great with all skin tones, as it's so soft and warm. I pair this with light brown eyemakeup and a soft bronzer for a lovely fresh summer look which I can't wait to wear as we near into spring! This looks great as a cream blusher as well.I think this is one of the most wearable shades out of all of the apocalips range and I have been wearing it a lot! :D

I also picked up Celestial which is a gorgeous dusty pink colour, with plum/mauve undertones. It also looks very natural and looks great with a flush of blusher and some light mascara. I have been wearing this for school as I think it isn't that different to my natural lips shade, but it enhances them beautifully. I think this is a lovely winter/autumn shade as it's quite musky and enchanting, and I just generally really like it! And the name makes me feel like a princess...just saying ;)

Wooow, so I picked up Stellar which is a shocking neon pink. This images don't lie, this is the actual colour! I wasn't going to pick this up but as it was 3 for 2 I had to get another and this seemed the third most wearable. Being quite makeup shy, I don't think I'd wear this for a normal day, but maybe if I was going out to feel daring! This was quite tame compared to the other shades such as Apocalyptic, but for me this is a big wow! If I apply a tinyyyyy amount and blend it in to my lips as a lipstain with a lip balm over, I can just about look natural but it's so bright. It's a really fun colour and I will try to wear it in the summertime especially.

P.S: I noticed on the Boots website that the shades they show look pretty different to what they are in real life, so I would recommend having a look in the shop and maybe applying it to the back of your hand. :)
